Software Engineering Leadership Role

This leadership role oversees the design, development, and optimization of embedded software and firmware for hardware products.

  • Leads multiple project teams consisting of software engineers and firmware engineers, responsible for all stages of product design and development from NPI through Sustaining.
  • Manages relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications, firmware design, and development.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Specifies workflows, engagement models, and objectives in partnership with other software and firmware teams.
  • Collaborates with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration and communication between hardware and firmware components.
  • Mentors less-experienced engineers to achieve successful deliverables.
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders and executives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with multiple software/firmware design tools and languages such as C, C++, Java/Javascript/Python.
  • Evaluating forms and processes for software/firmware testing and methodology including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • CI/CD and Agile experience.
  • Overall architecture of software/firmware and interaction with hardware/software/OS designs for products and solutions.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results.
