Job Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished English law-qualified Senior Associate to join our esteemed Dispute Resolution practice in Singapore. This pivotal role demands a commercially astute lawyer with 6-8 years' post-qualification experience and proven expertise in managing complex disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil and commercial dispute resolution matters, encompassing international arbitrations, mediations, adjudications, and investigations across various sectors.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on disputes and contentious issues to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Draft and review pleadings, submissions, witness statements, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain rigorous file management and reporting standards while ensuring compliance with legal procedural deadlines in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Engage in business development initiatives to attract new clients and drive growth in the department, collaborating closely with the firm's London and Tokyo offices.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years' post-qualification experience in high-value, cross-border dispute resolution, litigation, or arbitration.
  • English law qualification is essential, as primary work involves English law-governed matters.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client management abilities.
  • Fluency in Japanese is mandatory due to close collaboration with the firm's Tokyo office and Japanese clients.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex issues with discretion and professionalism.
