Electrical Partial Discharge Specialist

We are seeking an Electrical Partial Discharge Specialist to join our team. This role involves performing partial discharge testing on high voltage assets and analyzing test data using software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partial Discharge Testing: Perform partial discharge testing on high voltage assets, ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate various PD equipment, including acoustic, thermal, UHF, TEV and HF sensors.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test data using software, adhering to IEC/IEEE standards.
  • Field Reporting: Record test readings and generate field test reports.
Licensed Electrical Worker Site Work
  • Site Supervision: Supervise electrical installation work to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • System Understanding: Read and interpret single-line diagrams for electrical systems.
  • Installation Oversight: Oversee the installation of low voltage switchgear, distribution boards and wiring.
  • Switching Operations: Perform switching operations on low voltage systems.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose basic electrical faults.
  • Reporting and Submission: Submit reports and diagrams to relevant authorities.
Work Conditions
  • This role involves 70% field work and 30% work-from-home.
  • No office attendance is required.
  • Work sites include substations and commercial/industrial facilities.
  • This is a high-responsibility role that prioritizes safety and compliance.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in partial discharge and/or licensed electrical worker roles.
  • Training will be provided for those without prior experience.
  • The ability to work independently and outdoors.
  • Comfortable with hands-on physical tasks and flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with Python programming language.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
