Orthoptist Role

You will be part of a dynamic team in adult strabismus and paediatric ophthalmology. Your role involves conducting general orthoptic examinations and paediatric ophthalmology sessions, where you will perform visual acuity checks, sensory and motor evaluations of squints, refraction, amblyopia diagnosis, counselling and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough orthoptic assessments and provide reports, including diagnosis and proposed management plans for paediatric or general ophthalmologists as needed.
  • Perform binocular vision assessments and other binocular vision testing to diagnose and support treatment in amblyopia clinics and fusion and accommodation clinics.
  • Diagnose and identify amblyopia cases and provide supportive treatment, including post-service management of patients and counselling.
  • Conduct other orthoptic-specific assessments and clinical practices, including prescription of Fresnel prisms.
  • Participate in teaching and research projects related to orthoptic education.
Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sciences (Orthoptics).
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Have excellent communication skills with children of different age groups.
  • Entry-level applicants are welcome to apply.
  • Be comfortable working at multiple satellite clinics in Singapore.
