Counsellor Role

As a Counsellor, you will be working with children, youth, and families in our residential care and community programs. Your role will involve providing therapeutic support to individuals dealing with trauma, family conflict, and behavioral challenges.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients dealing with trauma, family conflict, and behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups to promote social-emotional learning and coping skills.
  • Collaborate with social workers and psychologists to develop and implement care plans.
  • Document client progress and contribute to case reviews.
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counselling, or related field.
  • Eligibility for accreditation with the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in counselling, preferably in child protection, trauma, or out-of-home care settings.

Skills:

  • Training in modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Play Therapy.
  • Ability to engage clients with complex needs.
