Exhibition Manager for Singapore's Immortal Defence Heritage

We are seeking a talented Exhibition Manager to join our team at Defence Collective Singapore Ltd.
Job SummaryThis is a 2-year renewable/convertible contract role, responsible for overseeing and managing the development of the NS-themed gallery (NSG). The NSG aims to be a world-class exhibition that imparts audiences with an understanding of Singapore's vulnerabilities, the importance and significance of National Service (NS), and why we ourselves must defend Singapore.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the NSG development team to drive project delivery in various areas, including procurement and management of gallery design and fabrication firms, content research and curatorial efforts, branding and communications campaigns, sponsorship and partnership initiatives, and internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Manage project timelines, clear project fora, and provide frequent reports to senior management.
- Conduct content research and development efforts, including charting out required timelines, working with content researchers, and developing final gallery exhibition content.
- Assess the sufficiency of mapped-out inventory of exhibition assets, work with relevant agencies to procure more if needed, and liaise with stakeholders on content research efforts.
- Manage the procurement of museum exhibition design vendors, track project timelines, and ensure timely and successful delivery of the NSG.
- Help conduct and integrate findings from surveys and focus group discussions into the overall gallery planning.
- Keep abreast of exhibition curatorial strategies and approaches of similar museums around the world.
- Work with the team to draft, launch, and close tender contracts for the NSG design and fabrication.
- Track project timelines closely and liaise with stakeholders and vendors to ensure deliverables are on track.
- Review and proofread copywriting for exhibition content and support the Assistant Director in managing budget usage, procurement, and contract matters related to the vendor/contract.
This role offers a competitive salary of SGD 80,000 - 120,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have a good honors or postgraduate degree in Arts or Social Sciences, with a keen interest in Singapore's social and military history. They should also have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in content research and curatorial areas, prior museum experience, excellent communication and project management skills, and proficiency in one other vernacular language.
