Senior Clinical Training Specialist

Clinical education and training are pivotal to delivering high-quality patient care. The role of the Senior Clinical Training Specialist is to oversee the development and implementation of unit-based clinical practices, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and expertise to provide exceptional patient care.

This position involves coordinating the induction process for new staff, providing on-the-job training, and assisting Nurse Managers in wards to ensure that their competencies are met. Additionally, the Senior Clinical Training Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating training courses to strengthen generic and specialty clinical practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish a conducive clinical learning environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate preceptorship schemes to enhance clinical support for new staff.
  • Provide comprehensive training for new staff and collaborate with Nurse Managers to ensure their competencies are met.
  • Coordinate and organize training activities to promote unit-based and discipline-based clinical practices.
  • Develop and implement nursing standards to ensure quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers to ensure patient care delivery meets established standards.
  • Act as a resource person to Nurse Manager on clinical nursing and nursing training matters.
  • Perform summative assessments of nursing staff and students.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Advanced Diploma in Clinical Education (Highly preferred)
  • Min 6 yrs of experience in clinical care, acute setting/geriatric setting
