Job Summary:

The Procurement/Sourcing Specialist III role at Thermo Fisher Scientific is a critical position that supports the local procurement team in achieving continuous material availability and minimizing inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating with external suppliers to ensure optimal cost and availability of materials, as well as leading cost savings projects and working with cross-functional teams to drive results.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain continuous material availability and minimize inventory
  • Negotiate availability and cost of materials from external suppliers
  • Lead cost savings projects and work with cross-functional teams
  • Handle supplier relationships and monitor performance
  • Support supplier risk mitigation activities and New Product Introduction
  • Participate in purchasing performance metrics and reporting

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
  • 5 or more years of experience in procurement and supply chain
  • Prior experience in sourcing of new materials to mitigate supply chain risk required
  • Experience in planning, manufacturing, quality, or engineering subject areas desired
  • MRP knowledge and ERP experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and strategic supplier management required
  • Ability to lead project execution of cost-saving, sourcing, and inventory management programs
  • Proven negotiating experience and results required
