About the Group Technology and Operations Department
The Group Technology and Operations (GTO) division is responsible for delivering software and system development, IT support services, and banking operations. We have centralized our technological components in Singapore, establishing a global framework that supports our regional subsidiaries and international branches. This architecture enables us to provide a secure and adaptable banking infrastructure across 19 countries.
Our Operations divisions focus on delivering transactional services to our clients while emphasizing cost efficiency through process enhancements, automation, and streamlined processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations and transaction processing, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of any exceptions.
- Ensure compliance of all trade applications with internal and external regulations.
- Identify and report any documentary discrepancies, transactional exceptions, or regulatory non-compliance to the Department Head.
- Process and authorize transactions within the Bank's trade processing system.
- Assist the Department Head in reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies.
- Address areas of non-compliance highlighted by auditors and compliance officers, ensuring staff are informed to prevent recurrence.
- Provide technical trade advice to Relationship Managers, clients, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Handle customer transactions efficiently, maintaining a customer-centric approach while applying appropriate risk controls.
- Support the Department Head in human resource planning, development, and staff management to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Participate in initiatives and projects aimed at improving the Bank's productivity and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience and comprehensive knowledge in Trade Finance, Commodity, Export-Import operations, and LC document verification within a banking environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in English and Cantonese to effectively communicate with Cantonese-speaking clients and counterparts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of UCP600, ISBP, URC, URR, ISP, INCOTERMS, and MT Swift messages.
- Basic understanding of accounting and treasury functions.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
- CDCS certification is preferred.
- A curious and positive attitude towards learning.
