Job Title: Global Trade Operations Manager

About the Role:

You will be working as a key player in our Import Operations team at Falcon Papers & Plastics. As a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing high volumes of materials, you will oversee and streamline import processes to ensure compliance with customs regulations.

Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate shipments efficiently, meticulously handle all documentation, and foster close collaboration with suppliers, shipping agents, and internal stakeholders to maintain a seamless supply chain.

This role demands strong analytical skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with various departments to identify process improvements and implement cost-saving measures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Import Process Management: Coordinate and manage the importation of goods to ensure timely and efficient shipment processing.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Expertise: Ensure strict compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare, review, and process all import documentation with accuracy and completeness.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and transporters to address issues and prevent delays.
  • Shipment Monitoring and Updates: Monitor shipment status, track timelines, and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 23 years of experience in import operations, supply chain, or logistics roles.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Solid knowledge of international import regulations, customs compliance, and documentation requirements.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks efficiently, with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with import management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Logistics Management Systems: Experience with logistics management systems or ERP software.
  • Global Trade Agreements: Knowledge of global trade agreements and regulations.
  • Certifications: Certifications in import-export operations or customs compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) are a plus.
