Technical Translator Position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Translator to join our team. As a Technical Translator, you will be responsible for translating software products into Indonesian.

  • Translate software products into Indonesian language.
  • Utilize internal tools to identify changes with localization impact.
  • Monitor and report bugs, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure smooth process execution.
  • Maintain terminology consistency across all software products and services for the Indonesian market.
  • Assist with quick turnaround translations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for tool and process enhancements.
  • Use unreleased software to check localization.
  • Maintain style guides and language glossaries.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, Culture & Literature or equivalent.
  • Native or accredited fluency in Indonesian to support the Indonesia-speaking market.
  • Fluent English skills for translation from English to Indonesian and vice versa.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) tools and UI translation for high-end software products.
  • Excellent writing, partnership, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Large vocabulary, literacy, and cross-cultural knowledge.
  • Current and direct exposure to Indonesia culture over a sustained period of time.
  • Knowledgeable in and critical to multilingual and multicultural issues.
Priorities

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in managing language-specific style guides and glossaries.
  • Experience with localization and internationalization.
  • Excellent UX writing skills and experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of structural aspects of the language (syntax, semantics, phonology, phonetics).
  • Experience in natural language processing and computational linguistics.
  • Experience with a programming language.
