Commercial Operations Manager

Key to our commercial success is a highly skilled Commercial Operations Manager who can support the management of LNG carrier projects, covering newbuilding deliveries, ongoing operations, contract handling and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial aspects of LNG carrier newbuilding projects including pre-delivery and post-delivery phases. This includes reviewing key contractual agreements such as time charterparties and shipbuilding contracts to ensure robust contract governance and compliance.

A strong understanding of the LNG shipping industry and its commercial practices is essential. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including LNG charterers, sellers and buyers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing commercial operations for existing LNG projects

  • Manage all commercial aspects of LNG carrier newbuilding projects, including pre-delivery and post-delivery phases

  • Review key contractual agreements, including time charterparties and shipbuilding contracts

  • Ensure robust contract governance and compliance with contractual obligations

  • Monitor and control operating expenses (OPEX) and prepare variance analysis and financial performance reports

  • Manage project-level financials, including cash flow planning and cash waterfall management to ensure timely allocation of revenues and payments in accordance with financial structures

  • Handle and resolve commercial disputes to safeguard owners' interests

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders including LNG charterers, sellers and buyers

  • Organize and lead regular commercial and operational meetings with charterers and other stakeholders

  • Identify and engage with potential partners to develop mutually beneficial commercial relationships

  • Support marketing initiatives for LNG tonnage as needed

  • Conduct market research to track industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging opportunities in the LNG shipping sector

  • Contribute to the identification and development of new business opportunities aligned with company strategy

  • Willingness to travel for meetings or business development activities

  • Perform other ad-hoc assignments as required by the department

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support Headquarter and Business Development role in various teams including Liquefied Gas Business Group, Energy Business Strategy Group and others

Preferred candidates will have a solid understanding of the LNG shipping industry and commercial practices, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
