The role of a LNG Freight Operator is to be responsible for LNG chartering to operate their business.
You will be reporting to the Senior General Manager (Front Office - LNG Trading)
【 What you will be doing 】
- Provide detailed voyage instructions to LNG chartered vessel, and provide accurate and timely LNG shipping information to internal/external stakeholders including HQ to facilitate smooth trading activities, and ensure timely issuance of documents such as BL and LOI, surveyor reports, etc.
- Monitor vesselsʼ operating performance (consumption, speed, cargo conditions etc.) daily, and calculate fuel consumption and weather forecasts to predict the speed of the vessel for delivery.
- Ensure that all obligations arising from the contracts and charter parties are carried out and that any requirements are complied with.
- Anticipate and contribute suggestions for schedule optimization as needed and ensure all necessary operational information is communicated effectively.
- Managing claims such as demurrage, off-specs issues, additional consumption etc., and resolving any LNG shipping operations issues.
- Communicate with vessels, vessel masters/owners/operators and shipping teams of trading counterparties and terminals.
- Coordinating bunkering plans and agency appointments, and making all arrangements for passage through the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal
- Strategize and schedule vessels jointly with LNG Charterer, Trading and Operations teams, and coordinate with internal teams to facilitate trading and operations of vessels.
- Manage vessel vetting/nomination, send voyage orders, heel management, ship shore compatibility study and monitor all ship operational matters.
- Support commercial activities such as calculating transportation costs, carbon regulation for shipping, reviewing LNG contracts (Master Sale Purchase Agreements/Confirmation Memorandums), internal discussions for trading strategy, and ad-hoc duties about HQ and group trading and optimization
- Handling 3rd parties charter out/in operational matters.
- Liaise with various counterparties including but not limited to buyers, vessel crews, port agents, bunker suppliers, surveyors etc.

- ** Requirement**:

- Bachelorʼs degree and minimum 5 years of experience in LNG shipping
- Excellent knowledge of all commercial aspects of LNG shipping and good connection/ network with LNG counterparties
- Analysis of overall transportation economics and a strong understanding of their impact on the overall LNG value chain
- Ability to identify and resolve problems related to LNG shipping
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office
- Good organization and time management skills
- Able to multi-task, meticulous and a good team player
- Self-driven & independent individual who is able to adapt well to a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for details
