The Privacy Counsel Greater Asia plays a crucial role in our organization, ensuring that we comply with data protection laws and regulations in the region. This position requires a highly skilled professional who can develop and implement privacy strategies, manage compliance programs, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

This role is responsible for assisting businesses and functions in the Greater Asia Region in developing all aspects of our Privacy and Data Protection Strategy and Operating Model. It involves overseeing the development of policies and procedures, covering the role of Local Data Protection Officer (DPO), delivering our Privacy and Data Protection Program, and supporting effective coordination of our Privacy and Data Protection Governance in the region.

We are seeking an experienced privacy professional who has a deep understanding of international privacy program development and management, as well as knowledge of privacy and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement privacy strategies and policies that meet regional requirements
  • Manage compliance programs and ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and address any concerns or issues that arise
  • Serve as the Local Data Protection Officer (DPO) for our organization in appropriate jurisdictions in the region
  • Support the development and implementation of our Privacy and Data Protection Program
  • Ensure effective coordination of our Privacy and Data Protection Governance in the region
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; law degree and in-house legal experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in international privacy program development and management
  • Deep knowledge of privacy and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to drive projects forward and exercise good independent judgment
