Job Title: Cell and Gene Logistics Coordinator

Main Purpose:

The Cell and Gene Logistics Coordinator is responsible for providing an enhanced level of customer service and operational support for the movement of cell and gene shipments through our network. This role will include booking shipments, working with global branches to facilitate these movements, tracking through our GPS technology, and proactively acting to avoid delays and risks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting to the Control Tower Manager, the Cell and Gene Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for successfully supporting the daily operations as it relates to cell and gene shipments.
  2. Develop excellent working relationships with internal departments, including Project Management, Operations, Customer Relationship Managers, and the Customer Services Team.
  3. Book shipments in Maestro against client specifications and pre-defined lane mapping.
  4. Update Maestro milestones and chase any milestones not added as agreed.
  5. Review Client Operating Procedures and manage all paperwork or checklists associated with cell and gene shipments.
  6. Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and attached to Maestro as defined in COPs and SOPs.
  7. Monitor GPS tracking on all CGT shipments as well as daily dashboards.
  8. Monitor weather, civil unrest, strikes, or anything that would perhaps delay a shipment.
  9. Provide clear and accurate information regarding the handling of the shipments, especially when shipments are delayed.
  10. Post flight and trace investigations to improve service.
  11. Provide support and assistance when dealing with special requirements and inform the Customer Services Group/Project Management team accordingly.
  12. Produce daily reports, which detail any transport issues within the Marken network.

Requirements:

  1. Associates degree, 4-year degree, or applicable work experience as a substitute for education.
  2. General logistics import/export knowledge, preferably in the Pharma/Clinical Trials industry.
  3. Experience in the courier or air freight industry.
  4. Strong knowledge of PC and Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  5. Ability to adapt/deal with inquiries & day-to-day issues.
  6. Proven track record of excellent customer service; experience dealing with people and speaking to clients.
  7. Eye for detail; organized/skilled in tracking; a problem solver.
  8. Ability to multi-task and think on one's feet.
  9. Possess excellent communication skills.
  10. Flexibility in working hours/shift work.
