Early Years Educator Role

We are seeking passionate educators to join our Weekend Literacy Enrichment Team. The ideal candidate will be trained and certified to deliver a structured reading and writing program to children aged 4–7.

This is a fixed-schedule, in-person role on weekends only – no weekday teaching involved. Locations will be assigned based on enrolment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach 2-hour literacy classes (reading & writing) for children aged 4–7
  • Use storytelling, drama, and creative techniques to bring lessons to life
  • Track student progress and share feedback with parents
  • Follow structured program materials and teaching methods
  • (Optional) Teach Primary-level English after additional certification

Selected Candidates Will Undergo HQ-Led Training

  • Pre-entry assessments: Written task + 15–20 min storytelling video demo
  • Literacy curriculum + educator methodology training modules
  • Post-certification commitment: Assigned fixed weekly class slot, complete 80 weekend lessons within 12 months, weekly attendance required, early resignation before bond completion = $5,000 penalty

Class Schedule and Locations:

  • Work Days: Saturday & Sunday only
  • Class Slots:

    • 9:00am – 11:00am

    • 11:30am – 1:30pm
  • Centres: Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh, or Paya Lebar (KINEX)
  • Rotations apply based on enrolment needs

Compensation Structure:

  • $50/hour (certified rate)
  • Each 2-hour class pays $100
  • Assignments depend on enrolment and centre schedules
  • Additional classes may be offered to those certified for Primary-level English

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood, Educational Studies, or Speech & Drama
  • At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience with children aged 3–7
  • Strong English and engaging storytelling delivery
  • Ability to commit to every Saturday and Sunday morning
  • Reliable, professional, and ready to complete the 80-lesson bond

Video Demo Requirement:

Shortlisted candidates must submit a 15–20 min video:

  • Read aloud a picture book suitable for 4–7 year olds
  • Use storytelling techniques – voice, puppets, props, or dramatization
  • Add a simple follow-up activity (e.g. related craft or song)

Important Notes:

  • This is a bonded, fixed-schedule weekend role – not casual relief work
  • Candidates seeking flexibility to opt in/out based on availability will not be suitable
