Roles & Responsibilities

The Early Literacy & Creative Expression Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging phonics and literacy lessons while incorporating drama, storytelling, and creative arts to enrich children's learning. This role combines systematic literacy instruction with opportunities for children to express themselves through voice, movement, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct engaging phonics and early literacy lessons tailored to the developmental needs of children.
  • Use songs, rhymes, games, and storytelling to make learning interactive and joyful.
  • Support children at different learning stages by providing differentiated activities.
  • Observe and track children's progress, sharing constructive feedback with parents.
  • Facilitate drama, role-play, puppetry, and movement activities that encourage imagination.
  • Guide children in preparing for performances, festive events, and storytelling showcases.
  • Build children's confidence, teamwork, and self-expression through group projects.
  • Work closely with fellow teachers to blend literacy with creative arts across the curriculum.
  • Partner with parents by keeping them informed of their child's growth and achievements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven ability to create a positive and well-managed classroom environment, with experience guiding young children in group settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, English, Language Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience, ideally with preschool-aged children.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in phonics instruction, early literacy, drama, or creative arts.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.
  • Ability to design engaging, age-appropriate activities that make learning fun.
