Job Title: Data Centre Mechanical Systems Specialist

As a mechanical systems specialist in our data centre team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Testing: Install air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, including chilled water piping, fan coil units, and CRAH units. Perform system testing and commissioning to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Electrical Connections: Install control wiring and main power cables for HVAC and ventilation-related equipment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct routine internal inspections—daily, weekly, and monthly—and perform generator tests to ensure the integrity of our mechanical systems.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on data centre HVAC and ventilation systems, including cooling towers, pumps, CRAH units, fan walls, FCUs, condensers, and MV fans, to prevent downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Component Cleaning and Lubrication: Carry out component cleaning, lubrication of fans, bearings, motors, and pumps, and perform alignment and vibration inspections to maintain peak system performance.
  • Alarm Response and Resolution: Respond to BMS alarms and support operational technicians in alarm resolution and system resets, minimizing disruptions and ensuring prompt resolutions.
  • Document Management and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date asset lists, procedures, inspection records, and capacity reports; prepare annual/monthly maintenance schedules and facilities documentation to facilitate informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an ITE (Intermediate Technical Examination) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical ventilation, or related building maintenance roles.
  • Hands-on skills with installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC, ventilation, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in critical environments is an added advantage.
