Job Title: Project Cost Estimation and Controls Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Estimation and Controls Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, project controls, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Accurate Cost Estimates: Create and maintain accurate and detailed cost estimates for major projects at all stages — from feasibility, concept, and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through to execution and close-out.
  • Maintain Cost Models and Databases: Build and maintain cost models, databases, benchmarks, and norms specific to major projects to enhance estimation accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Manage Project Budgets: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved funding, project scope, and execution plans.
  • Establish Effective Cost Control Systems: Establish and implement effective cost control systems to track actual costs, commitments, and forecasts against the approved budgets.
  • Provide Regular Reporting: Provide regular cost reporting to stakeholders, highlighting variances, trends, and forecasts with clear explanations and proposed corrective actions if required.
  • Support Portfolio Decision-Making: Support portfolio prioritization and decision-making by analyzing cost implications across multiple projects and proposing cost optimization strategies.
Requirements:
  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience: An engineering degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years industry experience.
  • Front-End Engineering and Execution Experience: Experience in Front-End Engineering and Execution.
  • Cost Estimating and Control Principles: Understanding of Cost Estimating and cost control principles.
  • Cost Estimating Tools: Knowledge in the use of cost estimating tools.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
