Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing claims, liaising with clients and intermediaries, and maintaining accurate records.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Marine Claim and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. They will also have a strong understanding of General Insurance, Reinsurance, and Underwriting principles.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Liaising with clients, surveyors/adjustors, handling agents, overseas Principals and associated parties.
- Managing correspondence and attending meetings with clients/intermediaries when required.
- Gathering relevant customers' details, arranging surveys and contacting settling agents if needed.
- Creating claim files/checklist and checking policy/reinsurance/treaty arrangements before confirming underwriting acceptance.
- Sending Acknowledgment Letter and requesting necessary claims documents from clients/intermediaries.
- Preparing and dispatching PLA/Cash-Call Advice; following up with reinsurers for payments.
- Drafting LLA/MLR for approval and ensuring reserves are timely and accurate.
- Maintaining and reviewing diary dates of 'live' files and ensuring proper bring-up dates before archiving.
- Verifying premium payment before processing claims and liaising with Finance on payment delays.
- Forwarding claims with strong recovery prospects to Claims Recovery Agents and actively following up on recovery action.
- Updating records for exceptional claims (e.g. ex-gratia payments, large losses) and related recoveries.
- Reviewing and escalating claims exceeding authority to HOD/Senior Management for approval before notifying Customers, Settling Agents, etc.
- Reviewing files regularly, compiling monthly/quarterly statistics as needed.
- Conducting UAT for Marine Claims module.
- Carrying out duties assigned by management.
