Mechanical Engineer Roles and Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer with our consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including low energy design. We are seeking an experienced professional to be based in our Singapore office to contribute to the development and coordination of engineering projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running medium-sized projects and undertaking client-facing roles
- Developing and specifying applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes
- Surveying, testing, and reporting on existing electrical/mechanical installations
- Ensuring manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and customer requirements
- Making day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaising directly with clients
- Representing the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors
- Carrying out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet industry and legal standards
- Validating and checking designs and specifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MSc)
- Sufficient experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in building service consultancy
- Competence in specification, design, and drawing for various building types
- Sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation
- Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
- Good understanding of BS SC and International design codes and Standards
