Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facultative Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing facultative reinsurance strategies across APAC.

Your primary focus will be on origination and placement of facultative deals, as well as managing and renewing existing portfolios. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships.

In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to negotiate profitable business arrangements that meet the needs of both SCOR and our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of facultative underwriting principles, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will be able to communicate complex ideas effectively and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate and place facultative deals in line with capacity and risk appetite
  • Manage and renew existing portfolios, assessing placements against risk profile to identify exposures
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and conditions to secure optimal facultative reinsurance solutions
Requirements
  • Industry experience in facultative underwriting for Property business in an international environment
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of subjects associated with facultative underwriting, including actuary, accounting, legal, and regulatory topics
  • Cycle management skills, with ability to flex mindset around underwriting strategy, capacity management, portfolio management, and long-term partnerships
  • Commercial business acumen, with ability to negotiate profitable business arrangements
  • Critical thinking skills, with ability to assess complex risks and make data-driven underwriting decisions
