Marine Underwriter Opportunities

We are seeking a seasoned Marine Underwriter to join our organization. This key role involves analyzing risks and exposures for assessment of risk quality and insurance coverage, including pricing of risks and other related requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze risks and its exposures for assessment of risk quality and insurance coverage.
  • Identify and develop new sources of business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines in the underwriting of Marine business.
  • Take on additional roles and responsibilities relevant to reinsurance business.
  • Conduct research on trends of reinsurance markets and participate in developing business strategies.
  • Ensure proper administration of Marine business transacted, including follow-up actions for endorsement, registration in IT system, and reporting.
  • Provide expert advice on claims matters.
  • Collaborate with other teams in pursuit of company objectives.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry as a Marine Underwriter.
  • Work experience with regional responsibilities and good knowledge of markets.
  • Underwriting experience and market knowledge of Treaty Business is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, approachable, and a team player.
  • ACII/FCII or equivalent would be an advantage.
