Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cost Management Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all costs related to projects from inception to completion.

This is a challenging role that requires strong negotiation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in construction management, quantity surveying, administration, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Planning and Management:
    • Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities.
    • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.
    • Perform risk management, value analysis and cost control.
    • Advise on procurement strategy.
    • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
    • Prepare and analyze costing for tenders.
    • Allocate work to subcontractors.
    • Provide advice on contractual claims.
    • Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
    • Value completed work and arrange payments.
    • Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use.
    • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Attend meetings with clients and their representatives.
    • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as main contractors, subcontractors, and site managers.
    • Prepare and present cost reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Other Duties:
    • Keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.
    • Negotiate with the client and contractors where applicable.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying / Building / Construction Management or equivalent.
