Your role at NTT DATA

This is a crucial new position within NTT Data Inc, established through the integration of various operating companies within the NTT Group, aimed at forming a comprehensive global services provider with a diverse array of business and technological offerings. The primary goal is to curate a targeted portfolio for select clients, chosen based on their alignment with our offerings. We will implement a top-tier market engagement strategy for these clients, significantly enhancing our capabilities in enterprise architecture by creating a substantial centralized resource pool. Regional enterprise architects will be strategically positioned in key countries but will have the flexibility to engage with clients throughout the Asia Pacific region. They will work closely with clients to assess their current landscape, identify challenges and aspirations, and propose tailored solutions.

The role of APAC VICE PRESIDENT – ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE involves overseeing and advancing the enterprise architecture community within NTT Data Inc APAC. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience as an enterprise architect, with a proven track record in leading a large, geographically dispersed team of senior enterprise architects. The following sections outline the expected attributes for this role.

Key Responsibilities

The APAC VICE PRESIDENT - ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of NTT Data Inc Asia Pacific and will be responsible for managing a team of regional enterprise architects located in key Asia Pacific countries. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring requests for support from regional resources, understanding the sales context, assigning appropriate resources, and providing guidance to ensure high-quality outcomes throughout the sales process.
  • Tracking team utilization, conducting regular performance evaluations, and fostering a high-performance culture within the enterprise architecture practice.
  • While primarily managing the regional EA pool, the leader should also have a history of delivering high-quality enterprise architecture projects and may occasionally engage directly in strategic opportunities.
  • Managing expectations both internally and externally, particularly at the executive levels within client organizations and within NTT Data Inc APAC.

The APAC Vice President – Enterprise Architects must have extensive experience in the sales lifecycle activities listed below to effectively lead a large regional team assigned to these tasks:

  • Account Planning: Supporting the Client Manager by conducting groundwork to understand the client's enterprise-wide landscape, challenges, and goals, and identifying potential NTT Data Inc solutions.
  • Opportunity Seeding: Assisting the Client Manager in client presentations and workshops to raise awareness and interest in our portfolio, leading to qualified opportunities.
  • Opportunity Strategy & Execution: Collaborating with solution and technical architects across various NTT Data Inc service divisions to develop comprehensive solutions that meet client needs while optimizing value and cost.
  • Portfolio Ideation: Sharing client needs with service divisions to inspire portfolio enhancements and ensure our offerings remain competitive.
  • In-Contract Innovation Strategy: Demonstrating NTT Data Inc's capability to introduce innovation into ongoing client engagements.

It is essential to monitor leading indicators of activity and the resulting bookings growth attributable to these efforts. The APAC VICE PRESIDENT - ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE will be accountable for the bookings KPIs based on the performance metrics of the regional enterprise architecture team.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in engaging senior stakeholders to understand their needs and qualify enterprise architecture engagements.
  • Ability to identify the right regional resources for specific sales situations based on skills and availability.
  • Ensuring quality assurance of deliverables from the regional enterprise architecture team and addressing any issues related to delays or quality.
  • Setting goals for the regional enterprise architecture team, conducting performance reviews, and providing guidance to build a world-class practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong facilitation and negotiation abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry value chains, client challenges, and best practices relevant to their sector.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technology field.
  • A master's degree in business management or executive management is preferred.
  • Over 20 years of experience in an IT service provider organization.
  • At least 10 years of experience in delivering enterprise architecture projects.
  • Experience in various industry verticals such as manufacturing, automotive, banking, healthcare, and retail.
  • Familiarity with IT services sales environments, including opportunity qualification and resource assignment.
  • Proven experience in managing a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience engaging with C-suite executives in client organizations and strategic partnerships.
