Wine Operations Manager

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the wine operations team and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the sommelier team to ensure exceptional wine service standards are met.
  • Implementing quality control measures to maintain high-quality wine offerings across all food and beverage outlets.
  • Leading member engagement initiatives, including wine masterclasses, exclusive tastings, and vineyard trips.

Strategic Wine Programme Leadership:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive wine strategy aligned with our vision and member expectations.
  • Crafting and managing an exceptional wine list, ensuring a balance between classic and emerging regions and producers.
  • Fostering relationships with top wineries, distributors, and industry professionals to secure exclusive allocations and unique opportunities.

Inventory, Compliance & Operational Oversight:

  • Managing the wine inventory, ensuring accurate stock control, optimal stock levels, and cellar organisation.
  • Overseeing supplier agreements, logistics, and storage compliance, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to procurement best practices.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Leading and mentoring the Inventory Manager and Head Sommelier, ensuring seamless coordination between stock management and service.
  • Providing training and development opportunities for the sommelier and cellar teams, enhancing their expertise in stock management, wine service, and sales.

Financial Management:

  • Contributing to setting and managing the wine department's financial targets, ensuring profitability and revenue growth through premium wine offerings and bespoke member services.
