Biomedical Specialist

Job Description

The Biomedical Specialist will support and assist the Assistant Biomedical Manager in the following areas:

  • Evaluate daily operations in the hospital and guide technicians on biomedical equipment matters.
  • Compile biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, technical publications, and maintaining personal networks.
  • Assess proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations, ensuring its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of use.
  • Monitor quality assurance and risk management matters, including maintenance of high standards and acceptance testing.
  • Provide a specialist resource for investigation of difficult technical problems.
  • Offer coaching and technical decision guidance to staff on communication skills, issue resolutions, and customer services.

Requirements

  • Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher NITEC) in an Engineering discipline and above.
  • 2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Possesses technical knowledge and experience in preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance for medical devices.
