Job Description:

Sustainability is at the heart of Temasek's operations, influencing its mandate to deliver long-term value and strategy for institutional growth. The Sustainability Group initiates and implements strategies to build a climate-resilient portfolio, fostering nature-positive and inclusive growth. It partners with various teams across Temasek and its ecosystem to catalyze business opportunities and solutions that contribute to sustainable development.

  • Developing sustainability strategies and policies to advance net-zero goals and drive community-related initiatives.
  • Catalyzing innovative solutions in Sustainable Living trends by identifying emerging themes and decarbonizing portfolio companies.
  • Advancing ESG integration across the investment process, including portfolio engagement, to strengthen long-term portfolio resilience and value creation.
  • Accelerating systems change through the Ecosperity platform, driving year-round engagements, thought leadership, and advocacy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting policy analysis and distilling insights relevant for Temasek on sustainability and ESG topics.
  • Conducting research on topical trends, standards, or global conferences related to climate, nature, social, taxonomy, blended finance, PRI, UNFCCC COP, etc.
  • Preparing sustainability-related disclosures and peer analyses.
  • Reviewing Sustainable Living-aligned investments.
  • Other sustainable finance and research projects as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Pursuing a degree in environmental science, sustainability management, sustainable finance, business, economics, international affairs, public policy, or public administration with a focus on sustainability.
  • Demonstrated genuine passion for sustainability, environmental, and social issues through coursework, internships, projects, or volunteer experiences.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with sustainability data and metrics.
  • Familiarity and comfort with using GenAI tools.
  • Good communication skills in both written and oral formats, with an eye for detail.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
