Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the design and commissioning of a new metal additive manufacturing laboratory, leading to its successful operation.
  • Conduct impactful research in robotic manufacturing, printing process monitoring and optimisation, and construction automation.
  • Disseminate research findings through high-quality journal papers and presentations at international conferences.
  • Support the supervision and mentoring of PhD students.
  • Contribute to teaching and outreach activities.

Requirements:


  • Possess a PhD in robotics, additive manufacturing, or a closely related field.
  • A strong portfolio of research and publications related to robotics and additive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in programming.
  • Proficiency in additive manufacturing-related software, including 3D modelling and path planning.
  • Ability to integrate sensors (e.g. laser scanning, thermal imaging) for process monitoring and optimisation;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Open to fixed-term contract.

Desirable Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience with metal additive manufacturing, particularly wire-arc directed energy deposition;
  • Technical knowledge of arc welding;
  • Knowledge and skills in AI.
