We are seeking an experienced sales professional to lead our Area Sales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the Mining industry, with a strong understanding of executing sales campaigns from business development to closure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and growing a pipeline of opportunities for AspenTech products within the mining vertical, as well as proactively driving sales campaigns to new logo mining customers and targeted strategic prospects.
They will also manage a group of Account Managers who are geographically dispersed, provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to executive management, and create awareness in the Mining industry through trade shows and other lead generation activities.
The role requires excellent business acumen, gravitas, and technical engineering skills, with experience in field business development and cultivating relevant markets throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow a pipeline of opportunities for AspenTech products within the mining vertical
- Proactively drive sales campaigns to new logo mining customers and targeted strategic prospects
- Manage a group of Account Managers who are geographically dispersed
- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to executive management
- Create awareness in the Mining industry through trade shows and other lead generation activities
- Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering field
- At least 20 years of software sales experience working with clients from process industries in Asia Pacific and Australia
- At least 5 years of experience leading a geographically dispersed sales team
- Ability to travel over 50% of the time when travel is authorized
