Job Description

Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

FedEx is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our frontline team of Operations employees in Singapore. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring that department or operational goals are achieved, and processes and procedures are completed promptly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People and Performance Management:
    • Recruit, develop, motivate, and manage the team performance.
    • Provide guidelines, support, and coaching to ensure that team members have the competencies, capabilities, and tools to consistently deliver individual and team objectives.
    • Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including hiring, handling disciplinary cases, and termination.
  • Compliance to Processes and Procedures:
    • Ensure team awareness of current processes and procedures, and relevant Company and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement changes to processes and procedures as needed.
    • Conduct audits and reviews of existing processes or documentation to ensure compliance with standards and rules.
    • Identify and investigate anomalies, issues, or variance, and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance and/or create improvements in process and procedures.
  • Reporting and Data Management:
    • Arrange completion of accurate and timely reporting across area of responsibility.
    • Provide reports, presentations, and relevant information to senior management as required.
    • Develop and use information or record management systems or reporting practices.
  • Planning & Service Assurance:
    • Plan and schedule resources, including rostering, to ensure department priorities are completed.
    • Communicate targets and goals to the team.
    • Provide updates on progress towards goals for senior management and team.
    • Evaluate short/medium-term resource requirements to support the growth of the business.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee team projects/initiatives to deliver planned results on time and within budget.
    • Support the team using project management tools and processes to plan, control, and execute various projects/programs.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously seek to develop and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Budget Management:
    • Manage department/location budget and take appropriate actions to optimize costs and remain within agreed parameters.
    • Involve in vendor management and/or procurement as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Five (5) years' experience in logistics industry, process engineering, or other relevant experiences.
  • Valid Class 3 Singapore Driving License or able to convert existing License to Valid Class 3 Singapore Driving License.

Work Location: Successful candidate will be based at FedEx in Singapore.
