Submarine Cable Network Manager

Job Description

The Submarine Cable Network Manager is responsible for overseeing the optimal functioning of submarine cable networks and landing stations.

This role involves monitoring network performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective measures to ensure high levels of reliability and capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring: The manager will monitor submarine cable networks 24/7 to detect any anomalies or outages, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Incident Management: The manager will troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues efficiently, escalating critical issues to relevant teams as necessary.
  • Performance Optimization: The manager will analyze performance data and implement strategies to enhance network capacity and reliability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications service providers or major transmission equipment vendors, with a strong understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies.
  • Prior experience in submarine cable landing stations, NOC environments, and optical transmission is highly desirable.
  • Graduate or Diploma in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering with relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar qualifications are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and coordinate with external partners.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and handle shifting priorities.
