The Role of a Claims Handler
Claims Handlers play a vital role in the insurance sector, ensuring that claims are efficiently managed and resolved from inception to closure.
- Responsibilities:
- Accurately communicate claim status and progress to customers, intermediaries, business partners, and internal stakeholders through various channels.
- Effectively respond to customer inquiries and correspondence via phone or other communication methods.
- Conduct thorough reviews of claim files, including setting reserves and monitoring recoveries, to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Administer Motor claims in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on claims performance and areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the claims department.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in claims processing within the insurance sector.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
