Construction Cost Estimator

As a construction cost estimator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Your expertise will be sought after by project managers and clients alike to provide accurate and reliable cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost plans based on conceptual designs to ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Provide expert cost advice to support design and development, ensuring that projects stay within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and manage the tender process from start to finish.
- Participate in value engineering workshops to optimize project outcomes.
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate progress claims and issue payment recommendations.
- Maintain effective cost control systems to prevent overspending.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors, ensuring timely payments and avoiding disputes.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Building, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent field from a reputable university.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in both private and public sectors, with knowledge of SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract.
- Previous work experience in consultancy firms is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of measurement, cost estimating, and construction technology.
- Familiarity with professional practices and contract administration processes.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.
