Overview

Role Summary

The position involves providing essential engineering support within the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, focusing on ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support

· Act as the primary engineering contact to deliver technical guidance on work scope management, repair decisions, engineering repair quotations, and technical assistance to Operations, Quality, and Customers.

· Assist in evaluating repairs for nacelle components, including both metallic and composite structures.

· Facilitate communication with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) regarding technical challenges and component repair evaluations.

· Develop comprehensive repair documentation, including detailed drawings, stress analyses, and submissions for airworthiness approvals.

· Engage in basic design tasks for tooling aids and assembly fixtures, collaborating with vendors for fabrication and calibration processes.

· Contribute to the development of new repair capabilities, system configurations, and airworthiness applications.

· Participate in Quality reviews and investigations aimed at enhancing engineering and operational processes.

· Identify and promote engineering and shop cost reduction initiatives, along with continuous improvement opportunities.

· Create and deliver training sessions on Engineering, Components, and Products for the Operations Team.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

· Explore new digitalization and Industry 4.0 opportunities for integrating technology and automation into MRO operations.

· Design straightforward Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions, including user guides for implementing process automation applications.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

· Open to fresh graduates; 3-7 years of relevant experience is a plus.

· Must possess strong engineering training, be a collaborative team player, self-driven, quick to learn, and have excellent communication and writing skills.

· Familiarity with SMART Factory and Industry 4.0 concepts is advantageous.

· Experience with new technology applications and an interest in digital databases and data analytics are preferred.

Skills

· Proficient in computer applications, including O365, Microsoft Visio, MathCad, with knowledge of Nastran and Patran, and CATIA V5 being a plus.

· Programming skills in Python or other languages, along with software development experience, are beneficial.

· Capable of troubleshooting equipment and resolving existing system issues.

· Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to stakeholders across various levels and disciplines.

· Excellent written communication skills for documentation and record-keeping.

· Effective problem-solving and creative thinking abilities to address challenges and devise practical solutions.

· Strong planning skills to outline project timelines, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate documentation.

· Adaptability and flexibility to stay updated with emerging techniques and technologies.
