Laser Production Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Laser Production Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for the manufacture and testing of lasers, laser sub-assemblies, and laser components against documented specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manufacturing and testing lasers, laser sub-assemblies, and laser components in accordance with documented specifications
  • Performing fiber handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, and operating laser diodes
  • Troubleshooting fiber-based assemblies and laser diode issues
  • Performing fiber-based assembly and optical alignment to specification
  • Incorporating optical, mechanical, and electrical sub-assemblies into systems with thorough testing
  • Installing and aligning optical, mechanical, and optical sub-assemblies into systems using precision instruments
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
  • Technical competence in optical, mechanical, or electrical assembly
  • Ability to assemble mechanical, electrical, and optical subsystems
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Experience in troubleshooting technical issues
