This is a key role that requires the ability to install and maintain network equipment in residential settings.

Job Description

The primary function of this position involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices and equipment. This includes racking and stacking of network devices, cable patching, physical layer troubleshooting, equipment disposal activities, hardware break-fix support, installing and troubleshooting enterprise equipment, inventory management, DCIM, OSI, TCP/IP Model, IP address, MAC address, ARP, ping, trace commands, console patch cords, routing protocols, and more.

This position also supports facilities management, site security, and project engagement with a commitment to delivering exceptional client satisfaction by completing all work at the highest level. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success and have basic networking knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The patching cabling between network equipment and clients' networks.
  • The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet job description.
  • The installation, troubleshooting, and de-installing IT equipment (servers/network/storage/etc).
  • Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches, etc).
  • Complete all hard and complex move, add change (MAC) requests within defined service levels.
  • Act as an interface between clients' associates and management.
  • Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
  • Perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website, and security testing.
  • Perform backup testing to ensure all systems are connected to the client's network as directed.
  • Support carrier testing of circuits.
  • Assist with facilities efforts such as vendor coordination and vendor supervision.
  • Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoration.
  • Water problems.
  • Emergency cooling restoration.
  • Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post-fire events.
  • Support inventory management activities.
  • Receiving inventory, tagging of assets.
  • Tracking spares (crash kits).
  • Ordering inventory.
  • Updating inventory records.
  • Prepare and return damaged equipment.
  • Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project/operations/MAC management.
