Job Title: Senior Cost Management Professional

Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Cost Management Professional to join our shipbuilding team. The incumbent will be responsible for Contract Management and Quantity Surveyor, including managing and controlling the costs associated with shipbuilding projects from the planning phase through to completion.

  • Develop and manage cost estimates and budgets for shipbuilding projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring they remain within the established budget and scope.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and engineering teams to gather accurate data for cost planning and tracking.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis, identifying cost drivers and areas for cost reduction or optimization.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in Contract Management and a strong understanding of cost estimation, project budgeting, and cost analysis. They should also have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure financial objectives are met.

  • Review and analyze contract terms to ensure cost control mechanisms are in place and adhered to.
  • Track and report on change orders and variations in project scope, ensuring their impact on costs is accurately reflected.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions by providing detailed cost breakdowns and estimating potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and external regulations.
  • Identify and implement best practices for cost management and risk mitigation within the shipbuilding industry.
  • Conduct post-project cost analysis to evaluate performance and provide recommendations for future improvements.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate suppliers and subcontractors in terms of cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

•Previous background in Quantity Surveying would be preferred. • Previous experience in Contract Management. • Proven relevant experience within the Shipbuilding, Maritime, or Construction industry. • Ability to be based in Batam (Indonesia) is a must. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
