Job Title: Senior Retail Merchandising Specialist

The role of a Senior Retail Merchandising Specialist is crucial in driving sales and profitability within the retail environment. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting retail stores to ensure maximum sales and profitability of related merchandises and services.

  • Sales and Profitability: The Senior Retail Merchandising Specialist will work closely with retail stores to implement strategies that drive sales and increase profitability. This includes ensuring a comprehensive range of latest products is available for sale and maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Supplier Management: The incumbent will negotiate with suppliers on terms of trading, margins, and advertising support. They will also manage the supplier base, including relationships and communication.
  • Merchandising Forecasting and Supply Chain Management: The Senior Retail Merchandising Specialist will work with Logistics, Warehouse, and Stores to ensure optimum stock availability and maintain healthy stock turnover. They will also manage stock replenishment and allocate store ranges to meet store requirements.
  • Store Range Management: The incumbent will monitor sales performance and inventory levels against plan, taking timely remedial action when necessary to ensure profitability.
  • Competitor Analysis and Market Knowledge: The Senior Retail Merchandising Specialist will maintain awareness of competitors' movements and ensure competitiveness through field visits. They will also develop up-to-date market knowledge of products and sources to enable quick speed to market of new product releases.

Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma and Above: The ideal candidate will hold a minimum diploma qualification and above.
  • Product Knowledge: Well-versed in Home Appliances, IT, and Furnishings product knowledge.
  • Market Trends: Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and ability to analyze data to inform business decisions.
  • Prior Background in Retail Merchandising: Prior background in retail merchandising is advantageous but not essential.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
