Early Childhood Intervention Specialist

Early intervention plays a vital role in shaping the future success and fostering growth of young children. As an Early Intervention Teacher, you will be responsible for creating individualized lesson plans and implementing evidence-based programs to meet the unique needs of each child.

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of English, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while being a team player. Experience in early intervention settings or with children with special needs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage admission and initial screenings
  • Plan and implement evidence-based programs or interventions
  • Plan, document, and report academic data/progress
  • Create individualized lesson plans and IEPs with curriculum mapping and individually-designed instruction
  • Develop behavior and classroom management skills to ensure the safety and well-being of all students
  • Document and report behavior and progress
  • Update parents regarding sessions and progress after each session
  • Update case notes post-sessions
  • Communicate frequently with parents and school staff
  • Conduct team meetings with other allied health care professionals
  • Plan and implement social/emotional/behavioral interventions

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) or Diploma in Early Childhood Education with a keen interest in working with special needs children
  • Bachelor of Psychology or relevant degree considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children (ages 18 months - 6 years old) with learning disorders and/or disabilities
  • Experience in early intervention settings or with children with special needs highly desirable
