Senior Commodities Operations Specialist


The Commodities Operations team provides end-to-end support for all commodities, covering Exchange Traded Derivatives and Over The Counter transactions. Key responsibilities include processing trade confirmations and settlements, physical inventory reconciliation, investigating cash breaks, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues.


Job Responsibilities:
1. Process commodities trade confirmations and settlements in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
2. Conduct physical inventory reconciliation for various commodity products.
3. Investigate and escalate cash breaks, coordinating with the Global Cash Breaks team as needed.
4. Liaise with Global Commodities Stakeholders to resolve issues and support business operations.
5. Provide support to Front Office Sales & Trading for all commodity-related queries.
6. Identify control deficiencies, resolve issues, and escalate gaps in controls to senior management when appropriate, playing an integral part in risk mitigation and procedural documentation/review.
7. Approve STP and Manual Payments release.
8. Oversee and develop the APAC Commodities Operations Team into subject matter experts, providing top-tier trading desk support while strengthening the overall group's control mindset.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• 5-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience in Finance or a fast-paced working environment is preferred.
• Understanding of confirmations and settlements processes as well as operational risk.
• General knowledge of commodities is desirable.
• Strong, influential communicator with articulation and concision demonstrated success interacting with senior management in both business and corporate functions.
• Strong risk management and control mindset with ability to identify gaps in controls and provide solutions to bridge those gaps.
• Self-reliant, good problem solver, and results-oriented individual.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

Engage in discussions and relationship management activities as required to support the business and work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with regulatory initiatives related to the business.
