
Senior Network Engineer, Rail Infrastructure

As a Network Lead for Rail Communication Systems, you will oversee the design, deployment, and management of the network infrastructure encompassing Radio, Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Public Address (PA) systems, Access Management Systems (AMS), and the Communication Backbone Network (CBN).
">Key Responsibilities:
Network Planning and Implementation:
Lead the planning, development, and deployment of network architectures for Radio, VSS, PA, AMS, and CBN systems, ensuring robust performance, scalability, and security.
Integration and Optimization:
Oversee the integration of network components across various systems, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines.
Migration and Performance:
Strategize and manage the migration from legacy systems to advanced network solutions, minimizing service disruptions and ensuring seamless transitions.
Security and Compliance:
Develop and enforce network security protocols and compliance measures, safeguarding critical communication infrastructure against vulnerabilities and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
System Integration:
Provide technical leadership in the integration and maintenance of VSS, PA, and AMS systems, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability within the overall communication network.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with IT, project management, and external vendors to ensure that network strategies and implementations align with broader project objectives.
Leadership and Team Development:
Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, standards, and operational procedures. Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest advancements in network technologies and communication systems, incorporating new solutions and methodologies to enhance system capabilities and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field is required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in network design, implementation, and management, with a focus on Radio, VSS, PA, AMS, and CBN systems in large-scale infrastructure projects is mandatory.
CCIE certification is required, with expertise in managing complex network migrations and system integrations.
Strong leadership and project management skills are essential, with a proven track record of successfully leading technical teams through complex projects.
Proficiency in network protocols, security practices, and compliance requirements relevant to rail communication systems is necessary.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required, with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, capable of effectively managing stakeholder expectations and leading diverse teams.
Professional certifications such as CISSP are highly valued.
