The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting data communication systems for Rail & Metro transportation projects
Key Job Accountabilities
To design, select, implement, test and commissioning the data communication system for Large Scale Rail Transportation in local and overseas
To conduct Proof of concept, factory acceptance test as well as interface system integration test prior the actual design/ onsite implementation.
To conduct system acceptance test with the customer after implementation prior handling over to the customer.
To provide high level of system availability, access controls of network resources, technical write-out and updating of the network infrastructure for the project being implemented.
To pro-actively monitor critical system and troubleshoot if there are faults detected from the system through the use of automated tools.
To configure and install transport network equipment (Example: Huawei, Nokia) and Local Area network equipment(Example: Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent) based on the project requirements.
To liaise with vendors and suppliers for the job to be accomplished as well as time schedule of delivery to meet the project timeline.
To provide relevant documentation write up for the project network design as well as IT security design/planning and etc.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree in IT or Computer Engineering related discipline
CCNA/CCNP/HCIA/HCIPor other relevant certification will be advantageous
1-5 years' experience working with Transport Network (MPLS-TP/IP-MPLS) technologies and Local Area Network (OSPF, ERP etc.)
Experience in Cisco/ Alcatel-Lucent/ Extreme/Huawei network devices or other devices such as routers, switches, etc.
Experience in Networkdesign/ planning/ implementation will be an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Well organized, proactive and self-directed, able to perform with minimal supervision and also a team player.
Reporting Relationship
The incumbent reports to Senior Principal Engineer, ICOMMS, Mobility Rail
