Job Overview

Drafter and Document Controller Role Description:

This position is responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings and managing project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.

The role supports the engineering, procurement, and project teams in delivering high-quality instrumentation solutions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and revise 2D and 3D technical drawings for process instrumentation systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical data to produce accurate drawings.
  • Prepare layout drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure drawings meet project and industry standards.
  • Maintain document control systems for engineering and project documentation.
  • Evaluate projects considering multiple factors including material costs, yearly terms, and contractual services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for creating and revising technical drawings.
  • Excellent interpretation skills for engineering sketches, specifications, and technical data.
  • Able to prepare various types of drawings (layout, P&IDs, loop diagrams, panel layouts).
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with engineers and ensuring drawing quality.
  • Familiarity with document control systems for engineering and project documentation.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating projects considering multiple factors.
