Job Description

Singapore Management University is seeking a talented Research Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research and development, with a focus on autonomous driving systems (ADSs).

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in ADS testing, failure analysis, and mitigation. This includes designing scenario modeling methods for ADS testing, developing algorithms for critical scenarios generation, and investigating robust motion planning for ADSs that can tolerate module failures.

  • Conduct research on SOTIF testing, failure analysis, and failure mitigation for ADSs.
  • Design algorithms for critical scenarios generation and develop methods for failure analysis and root cause analysis of critical scenarios.
  • Investigate robust motion planning for ADSs that can tolerate module failures in ADSs.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative technologies and work collaboratively with a small, agile academic research team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant research experience in ADS testing, motion planning, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python and SVL/CARLA.

Applicants with research publications in software engineering, intelligent vehicles, and robotics area will be advantageous.
