Currency Trader Position Overview

Our organization is seeking an experienced Senior Currency Trader to manage dealing activities and contribute to the growth of our business.

About the Role:

This challenging role will enable you to leverage your expertise in foreign exchange trading to help us manage risks and capitalize on opportunities.

You will be responsible for managing dealing activities, including spot, forwards, swaps, and NDFs, as well as collaborating with other teams to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage dealing activities across various markets, with a focus on APAC currencies.
  • Help us manage group-wide FX risks and liquidity trades to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet customer demands.
  • Oversee day-to-day FX Trading hedging activities during APAC timezone, including correlation strategy across FX products Spot, Forwards & NDFs.
  • Work closely with Treasury Data Analysts & Scientists to assess risk over upcoming market events, product launches, and regular assessment of existing trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with Treasury Liquidity Operations & Regional Banking to optimize funding and reduce Treasury costs.
  • Be a point of contact and help manage relationships with international banks and counterparties across the APAC region.
  • Support Global Wise Platform and Product teams with Treasury solutions on new or existing currencies & product launches.
  • Take part in initiatives aimed at making upgrades to our dealing strategy, policies, controls, and systems.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 8-10+ years FX trading experience across a variety of markets with a focus on APAC currencies.
  • Experience managing dealing activities, preferably in a buy/sell side FX dealing environment and/or Treasury functions.
  • Confident dealing spot, forwards, swaps, and NDFs to manage live exposures.
  • An experienced professional relationship builder with banks and counterparties.
  • A leader with experience managing a small team.
  • Experience in a change environment, with broad collaboration.
  • Proficient prioritizer - you make the right decisions on how to allocate time and effort.
