The following is a job description for an IT Engineer role:

Job Summary

This position involves working closely with R&D teams to maintain and upgrade the engineering EDA infrastructure, focusing on IT-related issues. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing EDA flows, building in-house tools, and providing technical support.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, upgrade EDA tools and licenses, monitor LSF farm and code server closely, and debug issues instantly.
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Work on Linux backend to assist in developing shell scripts for automation, manage cronjobs, and help develop Engineering applications in PHP/MySQL (MariaDB)/Apache when necessary.
  • Provide limited EDA tool support.
  • Perform all security/compliance functions for code version control and user database. Reinforce IT security policy in all flows and stay vigilant with IT incidents.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience directly related to the duties specified above in an IT environment.
  • Good communicator, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environment, familiar with SGE/LSF job scheduler.
  • Working knowledge of EDA license management.
  • Working knowledge of EDA software administration and installation.
  • High scripting skills, willing to learn new things.
  • Good knowledge of version control software such as Git/Gerrit/Jenkins/ClearCase.
