Job Summary

A Ship Broker serves as a crucial intermediary between ship owners and charterers, facilitating the leasing, purchase, and sale of vessels. This role encompasses negotiating contracts, coordinating cargo transportation, and ensuring adherence to international maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage chartering brokering activities, including finding ships for specific employment, analyzing reports on sales and earnings, and ensuring compliance with port and flag state regulations.
  • Analyze market data to identify business opportunities and evaluate recommendations for potential business opportunities.
  • Negotiate spot fixtures / time charters to facilitate chartering operations and monitor targets achieved against key performance indicators.
  • Develop business unit plans and oversee implementation of workflow improvements to improve efficiency.
  • Manage resource planning, including optimizing utilization of resources and acquiring and allocating resources to support operations.
  • Service client accounts, including managing contracts with charterers, ship owners, and other Shipbrokers within the team.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime-related discipline.
  • Possess minimum 2 years of working experience in chartering business of Dry Bulk.
  • Articulate and discuss ideas and persuade others to achieve common outcomes.
  • Detect and decipher emotions of others to manage interpersonal relationships in social situations.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment by fulfilling own responsibilities and providing support to co-workers to achieve team goals.
  • Anticipate customer needs and expectations and elicit feedback from customers to improve service.
  • Build relationships with customers to create and sustain customer loyalty.
What We Offer

Basic Salary from SGD5,000 to SGD7,000
