Academic Partnerships Manager (APAC)

Morgan Healey is retained to find a new Vice President of Academic Partnerships for APAC. This role is responsible for developing commercial publishing strategies across APAC and defining new growth markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Researcher Services content growth, KOL acquisition and influence in APAC; responsibility for performance and objective attainment in line with strategic objectives
  • Lead, inspire and coach a high-level senior team to ensure high engagement, delivery of objectives, and a culture of high performance
  • Establish, maintain and develop high-level relationships with key APAC customer groups; researchers and research key opinion leaders, funders, societies and institutions, commercial, professional and academic as well as government and regulatory bodies
  • Provide market feedback to leadership regarding competitive offerings and regional market trends, and generate product and services development ideas
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including revenue, costs, overheads, usage and user behaviours to inform future strategic development.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the STM / Research Publishing space, strong commercial focus and experience in managing the P&L within a strategic business unit. A firm grasp of strategic issues affecting the global research sector is essential.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in the STM / Research Publishing space
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Strong commercial focus and experience in managing the P&L within a strategic business unit

  • A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing content delivery for a global publishing business
