GIC Private Equity (PE)
GIC is a distinguished investment firm, boasting one of the most extensive private equity programs among institutional investors. Our PE division invests across the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific in various sectors, including Healthcare, Consumer Goods, Financial Services, Technology, Industrials, Sustainable Energy, and Infrastructure. In addition to collaborating with private equity fund managers, GIC PE also engages in direct investments across the capital structure, including equity, senior and junior debt, secondary PE transactions, restructuring, opportunistic credit, and special situations. Currently, we maintain over 100 active partnerships with fund managers and have directly invested in more than 1,000 companies across multiple sectors globally.
The Global Investments, Strategy and Risk (GISR) team, based in Singapore, plays a pivotal role in assisting the Private Equity Chief Investment Officers (CIO) and senior management in assessing investments, formulating investment strategies, and defining the role of PE within the broader GIC portfolio. Our GISR team comprises a diverse array of nationalities and backgrounds, including professionals with prior experience in investment banking, consulting, and private market investments.
We are seeking an AVP to join our team, focusing on Private Credit. The successful candidate will assist senior colleagues in deal assessments and contribute to strategy and risk initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Articulate and refine the private credit investment strategy. Monitor the private credit landscape for insights on potential downside risks related to systemic markets, sponsors, sectors, and companies. Deal Assessment: Formulate an independent perspective on deals and fund investments, evaluate business quality, financial robustness, and risk of capital loss, identify key risks and mitigation strategies, and assess risk-return profiles. Portfolio Management: Oversee and assess the performance of portfolio and fund investments. Track comparable businesses, emerging themes, and potential disruption risks. Risk Management: Manage pricing and currency hedge cost models to establish hurdle rates, conduct stress testing of portfolio returns, and monitor concentration risks.Qualifications and Skills:
A strong passion for credit investing. 5-8 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a buyside role at direct lending firms, investment banks, or merchant banking/financing groups. Self-motivated, intellectually curious, adaptable, with a growth mindset; capable of framing unstructured problems and identifying solutions, exhibiting a positive attitude with high energy and initiative. Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and engage with various stakeholders, demonstrating maturity and confidence. Proficient in business evaluation, research, and financial modeling. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Work at the Point of Impact
